“Caturday,” or “lolcats.” WTF!? I recently found out about this thing when my cousin’s Gmail status contained this link. I don’t need to tell you that this shit is hilarious, but I do have some questions about it. (I guess this means I really am in mai blog, postin bout cats.)
- What is so hilarious about lolcats? I think, that in short, it is the combination of that annoying leetspeak/crappy grammar ubiquitous to the internet (which was already funny) and the inherent cuteness of cats.
- How do people know about it?! Regular, level-headed, everyday people will actually respond if you ask them “i can has cheezburger?” I know I discovered lolcats after it became popular, but somehow, I’m surprised at how quickly this thing is spreading.
- Is there anything my cats and I can add to the Caturday movement? After looking at the page with 2500 cats, I wonder whether I could come up with anything truly original in the way of cat photography.
