Here are the books I’ll be reading for the AP English summer assignment. Out of the titles given, I selected the shortest, yet presumably most interesting, while trying to keep a nice variety. (Strike-through means I finished it.)
* Wuthering Heights
* The Invisible Man
* The Cherry Orchard
* No Exit
* The Sound of Waves
* A Man of the People

Summer Reading
July 30, 2007Going back to Linux
July 19, 2007After some frustration with some nasty Ubuntu bugs, I left Linux for my shiny new XP Media Center installation for a while. I’m not completely closed to Ubuntu–if another version is released, I’ll be sure to check it out, but 7.04 just isn’t worth it for me right now.
But since in Windows performance has slowed considerably, and I miss my OGG and Amarok, I’m going back to Linux… just not Ubuntu. I’m going to try out Fedora and Mandriva. The suckiness of ITunes has really influenced my decision. It is a resource-hog, and pales in comparison to Amarok interface-wise. Of course I can always use my XP partition if I need to play MapleStory or some other PC game.
To sum up, in the beautiful words of Weezer:
…It’s time I got back, it’s time I got back
‘n I don’t even know how I got off the track…
UPDATE: The new version of Ubuntu (7.10) looks promising. So maybe I’ll end up using it again after all?
