October 20, 2007I just did a fresh install of the new version of Ubuntu (7.10, “Gutsy Gibbon”) and I must say I’m impressed. The new version of Gnome is excellent, delivering (as usual) gradual but necessary improvements to the desktop. Add to that the fact that I was actually able to get the desktop effects to work, and–with some reservations–I’m sold.

October 9, 2007My birthday’s coming up! Yay? Some things I want:
* Marie Callendar’s pie – banana cream, pumpkin, pecan, apple, or lemon meringue
* That journal I saw at Target (I know which one I’m talking about)
* Anything from my book, music, DVD, or video game wishlists
* Jelly Belly candy (which is all vegetarian-friendly…whew)
* A nice yoga mat and maybe some eastern/trance music
